For the purpose, a public fund raising program was conducted in Dec 2012, by including various cine and TV artists. Many dignitaries including Vice admiral of Indian Navy Pradeep Chavan participated in the function. With money raised from the program, and also by other donations from people of various walk of life (notable of which are generous donations by Sri A T Mohammed Kunhi, Sri N C Prakash and Lion Sudheer Babu) we started the center in June 2013. It was inaugurated by Union Minister Sri P Karunakaran.
Currently we have 3 dialysis machines capable of carrying out 6 dialysis in a day. We hope to increase the number of machines and thereby number of dialysis per day in near future. Most of the patients seeking dialysis have poor financial background, and we provide them at nominal cost, which is actually only the maintanance cost of the machine and the facility. Many good persons have come forward extending donations to make dialysis free for the poor and needy patients and we thank them immensely for their goodwill and support.
